Portfolio / Expertise / Stakeholder Alignment

Stakeholder Alignment

Alignment is structural, not negotiated. I give every stakeholder one source of truth — so product, engineering, and leadership read the same numbers and chase the same date.

The Workflow — How I Approach It

1

Map stakeholders and their stakes

Who decides, who provides, who depends — and what each of them needs to stay aligned.

2

Define the cadence and artifacts

Agree the rhythm of updates and the documents that carry them — before they’re needed.

3

One source of truth

Dashboards, logs, and plans that everyone reads from — no parallel spreadsheets.

4

Communicate in their language

Executives get decisions and trade-offs; engineers get detail — same facts, right framing.

5

Escalate decisions, not surprises

Bring options and recommendations early — leadership acts, they don’t react.

My Operating View — The 2 Cents

Misalignment isn’t a communication problem; it’s an information problem. My 2 cents: if two stakeholders hold different numbers, the plan is broken, not the meeting. Fix the single source of truth and alignment follows.

What Worked & What Didn’t

What Worked

  • Single-source dashboards — one set of numbers everyone trusted.
  • Early escalation with options — decisions made while choices existed.

What Didn’t

  • Parallel spreadsheets — two versions of the truth, zero trust.
  • Escalating issues late — leadership asked to react, not decide.
