Change Management

People adopt what they help build. I run change management as engagement, not announcement — stakeholders involved early, impact understood, training real — so change sticks after the project ends.

The Workflow — How I Approach It

1

Assess impact and stakeholders

Who is affected, how, and how much — before designing the communication.

2

Involve champions early

Get the people who carry influence inside before the rollout — not after.

3

Communicate the why

People accept change they understand — the reason comes before the how.

4

Train on the how

Real training, not a deck — competence is what makes adoption stick.

5

Support the transition

Coaching and quick response during the messy middle — that’s when change survives.

6

Reinforce and measure adoption

Measure whether the new way is actually used — adoption is the outcome.

My Operating View — The 2 Cents

Change fails in the handoff to people. My 2 cents: involvement beats announcement. The people who help build the change will defend it — the people who are told about it will resist it. Measure adoption, not just awareness.

What Worked & What Didn’t

What Worked

  • Early champion involvement — change had defenders before rollout.
  • Adoption measured — we knew it stuck, not just that it launched.

What Didn’t

  • Announcing change — loud launch, quiet resistance.
  • Skipping training — people reverted to the old way under pressure.
